The first Executive Director of the Inwood Merchants Association, Inc., Gwen Martinez, is a highly respected community leader with excellent training and experience in financial planning and accounting.  Holding a Master's Degree in Government Accounting from Rutgers University, Gwen has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, extensive experience developing and implementing financial strategies, and an impressive talent for general management. 

Former Chief Financial Officer at a non-profit organization, Gwen has demonstrated skills in developing and implementing effective financial and operational infrastructures designed to achieve an audit-ready practice and drive organizational growth. Gwen is a strong public funds manager with a track record of establishing and strengthening key controls and optimizing other accounting practices to increase reporting functionality and improve working capital.

In the recent past, Gwen ran a boutique consulting firm specializing in financial planning, analysis, financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for small and medium-sized businesses.
