Dr. Rosa Lavergne is a holistic healing practitioner who focuses on mental-emotional and lifestyle well-being from the cultural experience of people with roots in the African, indigenous and Afro-Latin American diaspora. She has over 35 years of experience helping people in their healing process.
Dr. Lavergne has served as an adjunct professor and researcher at New York University (NYU), Columbia University, Montclair State University, and Ramapo College for the past twenty years. Her community work and professional career are evidence of her passion and strong commitment to working with women, Afro-descendant communities, and people who need behavioral and life change.
Dr. Lavergne promotes the philosophy that people should be active participants, take charge, and be aware of how they think, make decisions, and live their lives. Dr. Lavergne is a proud co-founder of the Dominican Women's Development Center (DWDC), she is vice president of a large community organization R.E.A.L. and member of the Reading Club, R.E.A.L. “Women Have Books.”
Dr. Lavergne holds a doctorate from New York University in Applied Psychology, a master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, a bachelor's degree in Literature from Fordham University, and a license in Mental Health Counseling. She is the author of the recently launched Soul Talks Life Academy and host of the Soul Talks Life podcast.
